Hi! I’m Kylé Pienaar, a South African filmmaker and multimedia journalist. I am based in DC where I work in documentary production at the Smithsonian Channel. I previously did video for the FrameWorks Institute, shot and edited for the Foreign Policy Association and worked as a video producer and editor for allAfrica.com, covering development in Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa. My writing has been published in the Los Angeles Times. I have experience in print and online media, research, and filmmaking. I am adept at non-linear editing and skilled in a wide range of camera and sound equipment. I am particularly interested in working on documentary film projects, in just about any capacity. Also experimental stuff, in the evenings and on weekends. Sometimes, I make successful fundraising videos and campaigns for student government presidential candidates.
